Did you know?

Nokia started out in 1865 as a paper mill and takes its name from the Nokia River in southern Finnland. This may seem a far cry from where Nokia is today, but let's not forget that paper is the original communications technology. It wasn't until the 1980s that Nokia started to play a pioneering role in the early evolution of mobile communications, starting with the first car phones.

The Nokia tune has its roots in a classical guitar work called Gran Vals, composed by Francisco Tarrega in the 19th century. It was introduced in 1994 and quickly became one of the most frequently played pieces of music in the world!
