3 Mobile Wi-Fi (or MiFi), more properly known as the Huawei E585 Wireless Modem, is the next step in the future of mobile broadband and wireless networking. The E585 is both a modem and wireless router, and connects to a mobile internet signal, allowing any wireless-enabled devices to connect to the internet through it, as well as to each other.
Mobile Wi-Fi means you never need to set up a complicated broadband network again. You can travel wherever there is 3 network coverage and the Huawei E585 will automatically connect. Once set up, your computer and other devices (iPods, PSPs, wireless printers, etc.) will connect to the router by itself and voila! A truly mobile - and completely wireless - home network with integrated broadband! And without even needing to find a Wi-Fi hotspot.
The built-in wireless modem allows download speeds of up to 3.6 Mbps (about as fast as good home broadband connections, faster than most) and has a battery life of up to 5 hours. No software is required - just switch it on and go - you'll be surfing away in no time.
